Hyaluronic acid joint or soft tissue injections are commonly used to reduce the inflammation and "lubricate" a joint or help soft tissue structures like tendons to move better and reduce inflammation.

PRP, Arthrosamid, sclerosing agents and other injectates

There are cases that different injectates than steroid or hyaluronic acid might be indicated like Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Arthrosamid or substances that cause sclerosis of a structure like dextrose.

Image guided aspirations/Arthrocentesis

There are procedures that fluid from a joint or a soft tissue collection is aspirated and examined Ito determine its nature and origin. In other cases, the nature of the fluid is already known but this procedure is necessary for treatment reasons

Image guided barbotage

There are cases that calcium, a hard substance, is gathered within a tendon or adjacent to joints causing local inflammation and pain. In this cases an attempt to aspirate or brake the calcium in small pieces is made (barbotage) to reduce the volume of the calcific deposit and reduce the inflammation. This procedure can be combined with a steroid injection, if necessary.
